Goodlettsville 8U All-Stars Firing On All Cylinders Against Clarksville National
Goodlettsville won big over Clarksville National 9-0 on Sunday. Advancing them to the State Championship game on Wednesday night.
Goodlettsville got on the board in the second inning after Liam Sheridan ignited the offense with a line shot to right field. Compile that hit with a couple Clarksville errors on the play, Sheridan managed to contribute three runs to the Goodlettsville run total with the early hit. Jake Reed, Micah Brenner, and Liam all scored off of his hit.
Goodlettsville methodically added runs throughout the game while limiting the Clarksville offense. Clarksville finally advanced a baserunner to 3rd base in the bottom of the 5th inning but the Goodlettsville defense managed to keep him from scoring which ended the game early.
Goodlettsville accumulated 13 hits in the game. Sheridan went 1-for-2 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in. Maddox Douglas went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits. Fisher Freeman and Grayson Collins each collected multiple hits for Goodlettsville. Cash Long lead the defense contributing on nine of the 15 outs in the game from shortstop.
Goodlettsville will have two days off while they wait the winner of the of the losers bracket. Lexington and Spring Hill face off on Monday night with the winner set to challenge Clarksville National on Tuesday night. Goodlettsville will have to be beaten twice as they look to capture their nineth 8U State Title after being denied the title in 2023.
