Maddox Douglas Puts On Strong Contact Performance As Goodlettsville 8U All-Stars - Take The Win Over Lebanon 9-3 

Maddox Douglas collected three hits in three at bats, as Goodlettsville defeated Lebanon 9-3 on Saturday. Maddox hit an inside the park home run in the third inning, doubled in the first inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

Goodlettsville 8U All-Stars opened the scoring in the first after Maddox doubled, scoring one run.

Goodlettsville extended their early lead with four runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Micah Brenner and Jaren McDonald.

Goodlettsville scored one run in the top of the third on an inside the park home run by Maddox Douglas. 

Goodlettsville 8U All-Stars piled up 14 hits in the game. Jaren McDonald led Goodlettsville 8U All-Stars with four RBI's. The pitcher went 2-for-2 on the day. Micah Brenner, Fisher Freeman, and Jake Reed each collected multiple hits for Goodlettsville. The defense was the difference from the start with a big 10-6-3 putout by Cash Long and Greyson Collins after a Lebanon hit in the first inning. The second baseman Micah Brenner led the way defensively by making the most plays with five. Cash Long made a huge play at SS with the bases loaded to keep the Lebanon rally to just one run.  Other key plays included caught balls in the outfield by Fisher Freeman and Jake Reed.  Other notable plays included putouts by Jaren McDonald and Maddox Douglas.

Goodlettsville 8U - Takes The Lead Late And Defeats Lexington 7-5

Goodlettsville snatched the lead late in their 7-5 victory over Lexington on Saturday. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the fourth when Jake Reed singled, scoring two runs.

Lexington got on the board in the top of the first inning after Greyde H scored after tagging up, Elijah G singled, and Liam H scored after tagging up, each scoring one run. Lexington held the lead 3-0 through the top of the 3rd.

Goodlettsville struck in the bottom of the 3rd with four straights hits by Micah Brenner, Jaren McDonald, KJ McClung, and Cash Long.  Micah and Jaren scored to close the gap to 3-2.

Lexington scored two runs in the top of the 4th expanding the lead to 5-2.

Goodlettsville flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on six hits to take a 7-5 lead. Greyson Collins lead off the bottom of the 4th with a triple to left field.  Maddox Douglas singled to centerfield driving in Collins.  Fisher Freeman followed Maddox with a double to center bringing Douglas to the plate.  Pierson Hughes hit a bomb to left scoring Freeman. Everett Hines followed with a bloop single. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Jake Reed that drove in Freeman and Hines.

Lexington made a push in the top of the 5th but a diving stop by the SS Cash Long with a throw home to Everett Hines ended the threat.  Hines caught the runner in a pickle and made a diving play tagging the runner at 3rd.

Goodlettsville ended the game in the top of the 6th with a diving catch by Micah Brenner with doubling up the runner at first base with help from first baseman Greyson Collins. Collins led Goodlettsville defensively with eight putouts. Other notable defensive plays were the Goodlettsville outfield led by Easton Crocker and Liam Sheridan.

Goodlettsville amassed 12 hits in the game. Jake Reed seized on their opportunities, leading Goodlettsville with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Jaren McDonald and Grayson Collins each collected two hits for Goodlettsville.

Game Recap

Goodlettsville 8U All-Stars Firing On All Cylinders Against Clarksville National 

Goodlettsville won big over Clarksville National 9-0 on Sunday. Advancing them to the State Championship game on Wednesday night. 

Goodlettsville got on the board in the second inning after Liam Sheridan ignited the offense with a line shot to right field.  Compile that hit with a couple Clarksville errors on the play, Sheridan managed to contribute three runs to the Goodlettsville run total with the early hit.  Jake Reed, Micah Brenner, and Liam all scored off of his hit. 

Goodlettsville methodically added runs throughout the game while limiting the Clarksville offense.  Clarksville finally advanced a baserunner to 3rd base in the bottom of the 5th inning but the Goodlettsville defense managed to keep him from scoring which ended the game early.

Goodlettsville accumulated 13 hits in the game. Sheridan went 1-for-2 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in. Maddox Douglas went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits. Fisher Freeman and Grayson Collins each collected multiple hits for Goodlettsville. Cash Long lead the defense contributing on nine of the 15 outs in the game from shortstop.  

Goodlettsville will have two days off while they wait the winner of the of the losers bracket. Lexington and Spring Hill face off on Monday night with the winner set to challenge Clarksville National on Tuesday night.  Goodlettsville will have to be beaten twice as they look to capture their nineth 8U State Title after being denied the title in 2023.

Game Recap

Goodlettsville 8U All-Stars were triumphant over Lexington 8u Allstars 10-6 on Wednesday to win the State Title.

Goodlettsville got on the board in the top of the first inning after Maddox Douglas singled, scoring two runs, Pierson Hughes doubled, scoring one run, Fisher Freeman doubled, scoring one run, and Jake Reed singled, scoring one run.

Goodlettsville scored five runs on five hits in the top of the third inning. Easton Crocker hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, Grayson Collins singled, scoring one run, Maddox singled, scoring one run, and Fisher singled, scoring one run.

Goodlettsville lead 10-0 until the bottom of the third inning.  Lexington scored five runs on two hits on five Goodlettsville errors in the bottom of the third inning.  All Lexington's runs coming with two outs closing Goodlettsville's lead to five.

Both teams were held scoreless in the fourth inning. Goodlettsville was held scoreless in the top of the fifth inning.  Lexington scored one more run in the bottom of the 5th inning to close the gap to 10-6.  Goodlettsville was unable to add any insurance runs in the top of the sixth.  Lexington lead off the sixth inning with a hard line drive to Greyson Collins at first base leading to the first out.  The second out of the inning came on a groundball to the infield in which Greyson Collins was able to make an amazing scoop at first base which took the wind out of the sails of the Lexington team. Up against the wall the third batter of the inning hit a routine flyball to the second baseman Micah Brenner which sealed the State Title for the 8U All-Stars.

Goodlettsville had 17 hits in the game. Maddox provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Goodlettsville with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Maddox Douglas, Fisher Freeman, Cash Long, Everett Hines, Pierson Hughes, Grayson Colins, and KJ McClung each collected two hits for Goodlettsville.

Goodlettsville's defense was shaky in the 4th inning with multiple errors but gathered themselves late thanks to some defensive put outs by Micah Brenner, Jaren McDonald, Greyson Collins, Easton Crocker, and Liam Sheridan. Micah Brenner lead Goodlettsville with the most put outs.

Goodlettsville captured its 9th 8U Little League State Title since joining Little League in 2011.
The 10-6 win over Lexington brings the Tennessee Coach Pitch Championship Banner back to Goodlettsville.
