The big inning in the beginning and the bigger inning in the end helped propel Goodlettsville Little League to 11-6, extra-inning victory Monday afternoon against Georgia in the Southeast Region tournament elimination game in Warner Robins, Ga.
Goodlettsville scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to complete its comeback after falling behind by four runs in the second.
Goodlettsville advances to Tuesday's region championship (2 p.m. CT, ESPN) against Florida, a team it lost to 8-1 on Sunday. The winner will move on to the Little League World Series, which begins Aug. 14 in South Williamsport, Pa.
Jayden Lee singled to right field and Mason Eakes walked to start the seventh and chase Andrew Smart, son of Georgia football coach Kirby Smart, from the mound after 3 2/3 innings. Lee scored on Jackson White's seeing-eye single. Preston Pacurar's double scored Eakes and White, Luke West scored on a sacrifice fly and Pacurar scored on Ace Eschenburg's single to round out the scoring.
